This page explains what happens to the details you give me on leefone.com. The short version: I only collect what you send me, I use it to reply to you, andthe only cookies are Google Analytics ones, used only if you accept them.

Who I am

leefone.com is run by Lee Fone, a web and app developer in East Hertfordshire. If you have any questions about your data, email info@leefone.com.

What I collect

The enquiry form. Your name, email address, and anything else you choose to give: phone number, business name, the service you're interested in and your message.

The free website check. The web address you want checked and, if you ask for the report by email, your email address.

Technical logs. When you send the form or run a check, the server records the date and time, your IP address and whether it was delivered. This is used to stop spam and abuse, and to spot problems.

How I use it

• To reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to provide the work.
• To send you your website check report, if you asked for it.
• To keep the forms free of spam and abuse.

I never sell your details or add you to a mailing list. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me, and taking steps you've asked for before any contract.

Services that handle your details

To run the site and reply quickly, your details pass through a few other services:

• My web host (Bluehost), which runs the site and sends the emails.
• My email provider, where enquiries arrive and are kept.
• CallMeBot and WhatsApp, which send me a WhatsApp alert with your enquiry so I can reply faster.
• Anthropic (Claude), an AI service that reads each enquiry to filter out spam, and writes the findings for the website check. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data isn't used to train their AI models.
• Google PageSpeed Insights, which tests the speed of the website you ask me to check. Your browser sends it that web address directly.
• Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (see Cookies below).

Some of these services are based outside the UK, and use standard safeguards for international transfers.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them. If you become a client, I keep records for as long as the law requires for accounts and tax (normally six years). Technical logs are kept only as long as they're useful for dealing with spam and problems.

Cookies

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_…, kept for up to two years, and Google receives your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. I use this only to improve the site, not for advertising.

If you click Reject, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics never loads and no cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete them, or object to how I use them. Email info@leefone.com and I'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
